Established in 2017 in Silverdale, Washington, Banshee Fiber Arts was named after owner, Kathy Griffey’s dog, a Saint Bernard/Blue Healer mix… or Saint Bernealer. The Shetland wool used at Banshee Fiber Arts comes from Ananda Farm in nearby Port Ludlow. In fact, Kathy knows the names of many of the sheep that provide fleece for BFA. The fleece is then washed and carded by another local homegrown business, Taylored Fibers in Quilcene. The roving is then taken back to the BFA studio in Kingston where Kathy dyes and spins it onto the skeins we offer to you.
